Delta’s GRAMMY celebrations commenced, when the airline hosted hundreds of customers, partners, friends and celebrities at The Bowery Hotel for its annual GRAMMY Awards Party. This year’s party brought to life New York City’s own rich musical history in a classic, stylish way — with city backdrops, a subway-inspired DJ booth, and more. VIP guests included Nick Cannon, Katie Holmes, Vanessa Hudgens, Lea Michele and Rita Ora.
Guests were treated to a memorable night of music with an exclusive private performance from first-time nominee Julia Michaels, up for two GRAMMY Awards — “Best New Artist” and “Song of The Year” — for “Issues,” her debut solo single that climbed to No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Attendees also heard a set from acclaimed DJ Funkmaster Flex of New York City’s Hot 97. Tiff McFierce, resident DJ for the New York Knicks, joined in as well.

This year’s lineup may have been the most jam-packed with superstars yet, as the night began with one-man-show Ed Sheeran and ended with Taylor Swift, seeing the likes of Camila Cabello, The Chainsmokers, Demi Lovato, Sam Smith and Niall Horan (and many more) in between. With a total of 14 all-star performers taking the stage throughout the night — along with a slew of surprise guests — the show felt like Christmas came a couple weeks early.

Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Camila Capello, Ed Sheehan, Niall Horan, Halsey, G-Eazy, Demi Lovato & Logic rocked New York’s Z100 Jingle Ball concert at Madison Square Garden. The annual event lasted a full 5 hours.
Swift closed the nearly five-hour concert in Manhattan, strutting from left to right as she sang “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space” and the latest hits off her new album, “reputation.”
“Well, thank you New York,” she yelled after she kicked off her set with the thumping “ . . . Ready for It? ”The venue, full of teenagers, their parents and the in-between, transformed into a colorful dance party when Swift sang “Shake It Off.” She closed the night with “Look What You Made Me Do,” performing dance moves in a loose black top, black shorts and blonde bangs.

Tribeca Enterprises launched the Tribeca TV Festival, at Cinepolis in New York City and featured numerous premieres and panel Q&As.
”Ten years ago we wouldn’t have needed a TV festival. Now, with the change in the TV landscape, both the quality and quantity of shows, it makes sense,” Tribeca co-founder Robert De Niro said in a statement. “As the Tribeca Film Festival has done, the Tribeca TV Festival will act as a curator in bringing people together for this emerging experience.”

The Elton John AIDS Foundation marked its 25th anniversary with a gala event at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. The event was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and featured tributes by President Bill Clinton, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, Sharon Stone, and musical performances by Aretha Franklin, violinist Joshua Bell, and Broadway’s “The Lion King” featuring Heather Headley.

Fergie hit the TODAY stage bright and early for the Citi Concert Series, but the concert wasn’t the only way she marked the day. Fergie just dropped her first solo studio album, “Double Dutchess,” in more than a decade. It is already No. 1 on iTunes. “Oh, my … really?” she said as tears of joy streamed down her face. Then, looking right into the camera with a message for her fans, she added, “Thank you! Thank you, everybody! I’m crazy losing it right now. … I’m gonna ruin all my swag credibility.”

Federer survives Tiafoe scare.
The US Open is sometimes described as a survival of the fittest, a task that requires as much mental strength as physical prowess, coping with the sounds and smells that flow through Flushing Meadows. Sometimes even the best players need a bit of help from the crowd to get over the line and on Wednesday night, Roger Federer just about dragged himself over the line in a far tougher contest than he and almost everyone else would have expected.

WHAT: The United States Tennis Association (USTA), in conjunction with Levy Restaurants, the official restaurant partner of the US Open, will showcase the diverse food offerings for the 2017 US Open Tournament. Renowned for its innovative food program, the US Open will again showcase the best flavors from around the world, as well as the freshest local and regional ingredients.
Featured celebrity chefs include Masaharu Morimoto, David Burke, Tony Mantuano, Ed Brown, David Chang and – for the first time – New York native Josh Capon. All chefs will be on-site showcasing signature favorites and brand-new food offerings. The event will be hosted by Emmy-Award winning TV personality, style expert, fashion designer and New York Times best-selling author Carson Kressley. The 2017 US Open runs from August 28th to September 10th.

Jerry Lewis, the slapstick-loving comedian, innovative filmmaker and generous fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, died Sunday after a brief illness.
Jerry Lewis (born Joseph or Jerome Levitch, depending on the source; March 16, 1926 – August 20, 2017) was an American actor, comedian, singer, film producer, film director, screenwriter, and humanitarian. He was known for his slapstick humor in film, television, stage and radio. He and Dean Martin were partners as the hit popular comedy duo of Martin and Lewis. Following that success, he was a solo star in motion pictures, nightclubs, television shows, concerts, album recordings, and musicals.
Lewis served as national chairman of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and hosted the live Labor Day weekend broadcast of the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon for 44 years. He received several awards for lifetime achievement from the American Comedy Awards, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Venice Film Festival and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and was honored with two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The TODAY plaza was packed with exciting fans eager to see a Citi Concert performance by Grammy winner and country music superstar Shania Twain. She kicked things off with “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed,” a song from “Now,” her upcoming fifth studio album.
It may have been 15 years since Shania Twain released a new album, but the truth is that the best-selling female artist in the history of country music is still the one with all of her fans!
“I’m really feeling the love,” Twain told TODAY before going out to face her adoring, screaming fans. “I didn’t realize how appreciated I was.”

Alternative pop singer Halsey on the TODAY plaza for a live Citi Concert performance before an excited crowd. She kicked things off with “Now or Never,” the lead single from “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom,” her brand new album. Jauregui (Fifth Harmony) was right beside Halsey on stage for a performance of their hit collaboration “Strangers.” Halsey, wearing a wig in her signature blue, and Jauregui, dressed in a chic all-white ensemble, gave a passionate run through the somber hopeless fountain kingdom track.
For the first time, the NBA announced the winner of the MVP and the league’s other major awards during a live show televised on TNT. The awards show, hosted by rapper/entertainer Drake, was held at Basketball City at Pier 36 in Manhattan.

The English singer-songwriter brought his biggest hits along for the show. His latest album, Divide, went straight to the top of the Billboard charts in March, and it packed a string of successful singles — including two tracks that debuted in the Top 10 in the same week (“Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill”). That feat is a first for any artist.
Rain does not dampen the spirits of the crowd as Hailee performs “Love Myself,” the lead single from her debut EP, “Haiz.”

It was a drizzly morning on the TODAY plaza but that didn’t stop Niall Horan from rocking the Citi Concert stage.
He kicked off the concert saying, “Look where we are, the center of the universe,” before performing his new single “Slow Hands” to thunderous applause from his fans.
The singer was amazed by the hordes of fans who waited all night in the rain to see him perform. Before taking the stage, he tweeted, “Wow hahaha! The lines around all the blocks nearby, insane! Thank you all. I understand you must be freezing and soaked through.”

For the latest performance in our Citi Concert Series, the singer-songwriter and “Voice” coach took the stage to deliver a new hit, a classic track and an old favorite. The crowd clearly had a case of Miley mania as the star sang her latest folksy-pop love song, “Malibu,“as well as her 2013 smash “We Can’t Stop.” But the 24-year-old had another musical thrill in store for fans as she belted out “Jolene,” a beloved song written and first performed by her godmother, Dolly Parton.

If you were anywhere near Rockefeller Center Tuesday morning, then you already know that Harry Styles performed on the TODAY plaza — even if you didn’t actually hear the hit maker.
That’s because anytime Styles sings, his fans add their own chorus of cheers, shouts and screams, and this time was no exception.
The former One Direction standout showed up to the concert stage to perform three songs from his upcoming self-titled solo album — “Ever Since New York,” “Carolina” and his new smash, “Sign of the Times” — before a huge crowd.

Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Elizabeth Rodriguez were among the celebrities to walk the red carpet at Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center.
The movie, due out on March 3, is set in the “X-Men” universe and follows an older Logan (Hugh Jackman), an ailing Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and a new mutant, Laura (Dafne Keen).
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
The Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated always makes a splash (sorry), and 2017’s is no different. This year you can find Kate Upton on the cover for the third time.
